Treatments

Various treatments and modalities may be used in conjunction during a session to provide the best possible service in relation to your requirements, success, outcome and reference to your ailment.

Injury Diagnosis, Assessment & Screening

This initial process entails looking into what is causing your discomfort; through assessment and testing of various structures with the use of Q & A we can determine what is causing your discomfort and thus begin your road to recovery.

On completion of the initial diagnosis and assessment we will begin a treatment plan tailored to your specific injury and needs, monitoring your  progress in getting back to full fitness!

Joint, Neck or Back Pain- (Joint & Spinal Mobilisations)

Mobilisation is a popular form of treatment for its numerous benefits it causes upon the body. Its aim is to restore your pain-free range of movement via application of controlled grades of pressure release to the joint or vertebrae

This form of treatment aids:

  • improvement of stiffness.

  • Re-establish and correct joint alignments.

  • Re-establish and correct movement patterns

  • Decrease in pain and inflammation

  • Prevent further or re-occurrence of injury.

  • Nerve pain

Kinesiology Taping (KT) & Supportive Strapping

KT is designed to be used in combination with other treatments, specifically to augment and enhance the body’s natural healing process, stabilise joint, muscles and other structures without restricting movement and provide limb/posture feedback. KT is elastic which allows movement without restriction unlike other taping methods, it sticks to your skin which delivers neuromuscular feedback (proprioception) providing supporting elements and awareness without the bulk and restriction commonly associated with other taping methods.

This method of treatment has many purposes mattering on application and goal of the treatment:

  • Aid posture and joint awareness

  • Decrease pain via pain receptor pressure

  • Overuse injuries

  • Sprains & Strains

  • Inflammation (swelling)

Flexibility, Stretching and Muscle Tightness

Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), Muscle Energy Techniques (MET) and Myofascial Release (MR) are a few techniques used to aid this factor. Through the use of a use of static (isometric) contractions along with aided passive stretching we can develop a greater range of movement. In conjunction with PNF and MET we can use myofascial release, an effective technique incorporated to work on misaligned fascia which develops muscle tightness over time. This may not necessarily be local to your experience of pain and discomfort but in fact be located somewhere else which inhibits your natural movement from another location creating your discomfort. Its aim is to release and re-align fascia causing more natural movements and thus decreasing your pain and tightness.
