Prehabilitation

What is Prehabilitation?

Prehabilitation or Prehab is the assessment of the body to identify any biomechanical weaknesses or strength imbalances which may predispose you to a future injury. We can utilise this information to prescribe and construct an exercise programme for the individual to function to their optimum level without discomfort, pain or weakness. Prehabilitation involves a mixture of strength, flexibility, core strength and proprioceptive exercises accommodated by massage, nutrition programs and technique. .

Who is it for?

Prehabilitation can be used at all levels of activity and is imperative in your performance and training programme which is often neglected. If you have just begun a sport, exercise or competitive level the repetitive nature that training and its demands can cause the body to be unable to keep up and thus lead to weakness and injury. An efficient prehab programme will identify these weaknesses and focus on preparing your body for the demands of your activity or sport and positively prevent biomechanical injuries.

If any injury becomes left untreated or ignored it can easily become chronic and often becomes and vicious and frustrating continuous cycle producing secondary injuries. Book a consultation today with JEMS Sports and Injury Therapy and get back on track with the correct, efficient and suited rehab programme that is right for you….
